Tina Yvonne Axtell, 63, of Baxter Springs, Kan., died after a crash in Ottawa County, Oklahoma with another person being air lifted to a hospital in Kansas City. The crash happened on July 29th around 6:26 am on U.S. 69A, about a half mile northeast of Quapaw. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Axtell was driving north and went left of center for an unknown reason and hit a vehicle traveling south. The driver of the other vehcile, David D. Slavens, 55, of Baxter Springs, was taken by EMS to Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He was then taken to The University Of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. According to the OHP, he was admitted in fair condition.
