A murder case in Osage County was delayed yesterday for the murder of John Adkins.Because the attorney for one of the defendants was unable to show up, the motion hearing has been rescheduled for Monday, Aug. 26th at 1:00pm.
Daniel Keene, Maurice Kent, and Toby Bighorse all entered not guilty pleas in April for the death of Adkins that occurred October of last year. Motions were filed by the Defense in April, one of which claims the defendants have Native American blood, and because it happened on Native American land, the defense says the case should be turned over to the United States Attorney’s Office.
The four were believed to be traveling in a car north of Pawhuska when an argument broke out, and Adkins was stabbed and killed, his body found 17 days later north of Pawhuska.
