Structure Fire on 7th in Coffeyville - Another Reminder to Get Your Free Smoke Detector

The Coffeyville Fire Department responded to a structure fire just before 8am Tuesday. Upon arrival, smoke was coming from the rear of the house and firefighters conducted a primary search unaware if the house was occupied or not. Along with off duty fire personnel and the South Coffeyville Fire Department, they got the fire under control in 15 minutes.

The cause was electrical and is under investigation by the Coffeyville Fire Department and Coffeyville Police. Damages are at about $10,000. The owner is Leonard Howard and the resident of the home is Shannon Phillips. Thankfully, nobody was in the house and no injuries reported.

Fire Chief Bob Roesky continues to remind everyone to call their local fire department for a free smoke detector and installation.
