OK Masons Give $1M to FFA Students

The Masonic Charity Foundation along with Masonic Lodges across Oklahoma have given the first $1,000,000 endowment to the Oklahoma FFA Foundation. Masonic Lodges in Oklahoma recognize how the FFA trains its student members and is devoted to its future. Holly Blakely, the executive director of the OK FFA Foundation sees the greatest similarities between the Masonic Fraternity of OK and what the FFA instills in students is servant leadership, community service, and the priority of giving to others.

The Masonic Charity Foundation of OK executive director, John Logan, says their outreach is not limited to a specific region, but to any student in a public school whose community hosted a Masonic Lodge. He said the ideals of leadership, self-reliance, and integrity taught in the FFA program are values the Masons recognize as the foundations for a successful life. Many people don't realize the FFA was actually started by Masonic members.

To contribute to the Masonic fund, checks can be made payable to Oklahoma FFA Foundation with note of “Masonic trust”, mailed to 1500 W. 7th Ave., Stillwater, OK 74074.
