Independence Community College Football Head Coach Jason Brown resigns. In a tweet late last night Coach Brown released a two page letter (seen below) with his resignation. In the first page he announces the decision along with a list of his accomplishments at ICC. In the second page he thanks the community and school for the support he has received but says due to recent circumstances, it would be nearly impossible to stay at ICC. He blames the Montgomery County Chronicle for diminishing his ability to do his job successfully.
ICC President Daniel Barwick has this to say on the matter: “This has been a painful episode for the entire campus and community, and its conclusion allows us to fully focus on the students we serve. As a college, we should be defined by the outstanding educational quality and value we create for our students, and we believe we can move past this together with our community, faculty, staff and student body. The college has no further comment on this matter.”
