An investigation is on going in Chautauqua County. Yesterday the Sheriff's office responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting on road 26 in the county. Deputies responded along with Sedan EMS and discovered a gunshot victim that was transported to Sedan City Hospital, where the victim was pronounced as deceased. Deputies located and arrested a subject a short time later.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation was called for assistance.

**UPDATE**

The suspect is 43-year-old Travis W. Dickson of Niotaze, Kansas. He was booked in the Chautauqua County Jail Sunday for driving under the influence. On Monday, a first-degree murder charge was filed against Dickson.
