Kansas Celebrity Hall Of Fame Issues Call For Guitar Pickers

The Kansas Celebrity Hall of Fame looks for guitar players to be a part of its first ever Guitar Extravaganza:  a guitar concert, guitar performance competition, and guitar exhibits.   Event Director Mike Flood says the event fits well with the Jim Halsey Archives exhibit, featuring many autographed guitars from celebrity artists such as Eric Clapton, Glen Campbell, AC-DC, The Oak Ridge Boys, Led Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones. Guitar players who would like to play in the competition should contact Flood at (620) 330-0675. In addition to the guitar event, a song writers workshop is being planned for the afternoon. The event will be at the Kansas Celebrity Hall of Fame, located at ICC West campus on West Main, on March 30th at 8 pm in Independence. Admission to the Guitar Extravaganza is $10.  Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Independence Historical Museum during the week or by phone at (620) 331-3515.  The Kansas Celebrity Hall of Fame will be open all day and viewing the exhibits is free. The event is a benefit to improve the exhibits of Kansas celebrities.

The museum is open 10 am to 4 pm Tuesday through Saturday.
