Today is the day.  Governor Jeff Colyer prepares to hand the keys to the Governor’s Office over to Governor-elect Laura Kelly The Topeka Democrat becomes the 48th Governor of Kansas.  She and Lynn Rogers, who will serve as Lt Governor, will take their oaths of office at 11 am on the south lawn of the statehouse.  The Inaugural Ball will be held this evening at the Kansas ExpoCentre.  Premium tables for the event were $10,000.  Kelly and her husband, Dr. Ted Daughety, spent part of last week moving into Cedar Crest. 

Meanwhile in Oklahoma, Republican Kevin Stitt is set to become Oklahoma’s 28th Governor.  The Tulsa businessman will be sworn into office at 11:30 on the south side of the Oklahoma Capitol.  Republican Matt Pinnell will serve as Lt. Governor.
