US Senator Pat Roberts announces he will not seek re-election to the U.S. Senate in 2020. The Kansas Republican will retire at the end of this term and the 116th Congress. He made the announcement today (Friday) in Manhattan, near Kansas State University, his alma mater, and the National Bio and Agro-defense Facility (NBAF).
The 82-year-old Roberts was first elected to the Senate in 1996. Previously, he served in the US House from 1981- 1997.
