Early Morning Fire

The Coffeyville Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 304 E 6th at 4:00am yesterday morning. Upon arrival, flames and smoke were visible. CFD and CPD were unaware if occupants were still inside. After a search, it was determined the house was unoccupied and firefighters had the fire under control by 4:24am. There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire, which extended into the attic, was determined to be a wood burning stove protruding through the wall. Damage to the structure, listed as owned by William Mayes, and contents was estimated to be $20,000.

In addition to CPD, off duty firefighters, the South Coffeyville Fire Department and CRMC EMS assisted at the scene.
