Area Unemployment Continues to Fall

 

Unemployment continues it’s downward trend in southeast Kansas.  Although the region as a whole has some of the highest unemployment in the state, unemployment continues to fall, according to the Kansas Department of Labor. 

 

Statistics released by the department show Montgomery County’s unemployment rate at 3.6 % for November down from 3.7% in October and down 0.6% from a year ago.  Neosho County had the highest rate of unemployment in the region at 4.3% but that’s also down 0.2% from a year ago.  Labette County was at 3.5%, down 0.1% from a year ago and Wilson County at 3.4% down 0.5% for the year.
