The City of Coffeyville received an email yesterday with the subject line “Bomb is in your building.” The Coffeyville Police Department was notified and Chief Kwin Bromley says they have received reports of businesses getting the same email bomb threats. Upon further investigation, Bromley learned the email style bomb threat has been sent to hundreds of companies, schools, hospitals, government agencies and individuals. According to CPD, the FBI says this email has been occurring nationwide and is believed to be a hoax.

If such an email is received, delete it and do not respond.
