If Black Friday is any indication area retailers could see strong sales this holiday shopping season.  A check with retailers around Montgomery County shows both heavy store traffic and sales by shoppers today, the traditional start of the holiday shopping season.  It seems that retailers of all sizes, from the big box stores to local small retailers are reaping the benefits.  The big box stores say that they’ve experienced heavy traffic and strong sales in most departments, especially electronics. 

Smaller, local retailers say they’re also seeing good sales some saying that business has been much better than expected.
