A Joplin man gets booked into the Cherokee County Jail. Sheriff David Groves says 30-year-old Adam Wiles was arrested in Baxter Springs. The investigation into Wiles began in September when deputies responded to a rural address where the owner caught someone burglarizing his barn. He confronted the suspect who brandished a handgun. The homeowner fired his shotgun, hitting the suspect with birdshot as he ran into a wooded area. Sheriff Groves says during a. Search of Wiles’ home stolen property was recovered.
