The Independence Veterans Day of Honor Parade is next Wednesday as Chamber Director Lisa Wilson says the parade kicks of at 2PM with a flyover. A long day of activities to show your appreciation and a community bean feed you can take part in whether you were in the parade or not. Wilson also mentioned they are needing some volunteers to help prepare the town for their 4th of 5 parades in 24 days over in Independence. Wilson mentioned many businesses around town starting christmas specials a little earlier this year to urge you to shop locally after the Christmas Parade but again are needing help for the Veterans Parade, volunteers in Independence as Director Lisa Wilson says  they need some help to lay sod around the new statue on Penn and Chestnut. Not an overly difficult job bu twill need around 15 individuals to put in a few hours of their time to prepare for the parade.
