An Independence man receives a year-long sentence for killing his neighbor's dog. Montgomery County Attorney Larry Markle tells KGGF News that Wade Jones will serve a minimum of 30 days in the Montgomery County Jail before serving 12-months of probation for the malicious killing of Zoey, a boxer. Jones was convicted by a jury on one count of felony Cruelty to Animals and one misdemeanor count of Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm in City Limits.

Jones was also fined $500.00 and assessed other court costs and fees.
