The former Caney City Clerk faces an indictment for an embezzlement scheme. 69-year-old Carole Sue Coker of Missouri is charged with mail fraud and bank fraud. She is charged with stealing more than 36-thousand-dollars and covering up the crime with check for cash scheme. Coker was the city clerk for 40-years before her retirement.

U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister says she embezzled a portion of cash payment by recording only a portion of checks made out to the city to make the city's books appear to balance.
