U.S.D 445 has brought forth a bond question to increase a mill levy to make improvements around the school district in and out of the classroom. The bond question has been a polarizing topic for weeks now. Dr. Jerry Hamm sat down with us and says that though the numbers seem intimidating, the increase is something that needs to reviewed. Hamm says not only the improvements to the exterior and safety of the building are what we should be thinking about but the quality of the equipment and courses are young ones are taking. Dr. Hamm has been working in education for decades and says at one time Coffeyville had several mill levy’s in place as well as more schools within city limits. He believes Coffeyville should continue its legacy and believe in education for the youth of our community.
