Training Underway After Health Scare At Cherokee Nation Hospital

 

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will return to a Tahlequah hospital. CMS has found several items at the Cherokee Nation's  W.W. Hastings Hospital that need to be improved. The findings come after sterilization processing created an HIV and Hepatitis C scare at the facility. The Cherokee Nation’s Deputy Attorney General Crissi Nimmo tells The News On 6 they expected there would be areas to improve.

 

Employees are undergoing training required by the CMS Correction Plan. The feds plan to return for a follow-up at Hastings before the end of October.
