An Independence man is taken to the hospital following a crash on U-S 169 near Cherryvale's Main Street. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports 81-year-old Jerry Plumley was westbound on Main and failed to yield to the north-bound semi on U-S 169.  The two vehicles collided.   Plumley was transported to a Joplin hospital.

The driver of the semi, 57-year-old Steven Blunkall, of Missouri, was not injured.
