An investigation is underway in Chanute after an elderly resident walked into his home and was confronted by an intruder. Chanute Police are investigating the incident which occurred on South Rutter Street. The suspect is described as having a dark complexion and shaggy hair. He may have been driving a white, four-door truck. A reward of $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person committing the crime.
