Recent news from Coffeyville Community College saw allegations of sexual assault in a males dorm room. Coffeyville Police Department is looking into the matter as Chief Kwin Bromley says they are cooperating to the fullest. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call CPD at 620-252-6160 or Detective Kastler at 620-252-6145. Those wishing to remain anonymous may provide information to the Crime Tip Hotline at 620-252-6133. Other ongoing investigations include a an aggravated assault charge to an individual who fired a weapon during an argument. Police Chief Kwin Bromley says they were able to question and charge the individuals with the help of a facebook video. Bromley says the cameras made it easy to identify a few individuals but stresses cooperation. As another arrest was made later on the matter, as an individual was charged with a felony level obstruction of a police investigation. Bromley says they were thankful that no other damage or weapons were used in the incident. He also notes that it may seem like common sense, but firing a weapon into the air can still potentially cause serious damage as it still needs to fall.
