Could that glass of water make you sick? There are water concerns in Blackwell, Oklahoma, just 90 miles from Coffeyville. The city has sent a letter to residents indicating Blackwell's water supply exceeds Department of Environmental Quality limits for pollutants and carcinogens. The letter, obtained by KJRH, indicates people could experience liver, kidney and nervous system issues and may have increased risks of developing cancer. The city manager says the contaminants have built up in the pipes and the pipes need to be replaced.

One resident says the water comes out of the tap with a muddy, orange color and it is damaging appliances, too.
