Montgomery County's Rural Fire Operation will soon include a 53-foot tele-squirt boom truck. The fire truck comes as a donation from Coffeyville Resources, which is replacing the unit. Emergency Management Director Rick Whitson says the truck is needed.  The refinery has sent the truck to Olathe where it is being refurbished, spending over $120,000 on it. Once their new truck comes in, the old truck will move to Montgomery County.

Meanwhile, Whitson has also agreed to have a grass fire unit kept at the refinery which can be used by that department during mutal aid requests.  Coffeyville Resources will cover the maintenance expenses for the truck.
