Coffeyville City Commissioners agree to move forward with the purchase of supplemental power from the Southwestern Power Administration. Electric Utility Director Michael Shook says by law the administration only sells to municipalities and rural electric cooperatives.   Commissioners voted 4-to-zero in favor of the power sales contract. Commissioner Jim Taylor was absent from the meeting.

Shook says the purchase of the additional electricity helps reduce demand on the Grand River Dam Authority and local generation.
