A 19-year-old man remains jailed in Cherokee County after the FBI contacted the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office regarding a possible school threat. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the sheriff's office reviewed online content allegedly posted by Colton Rodger Speer. Law enforcement implemented their school emergency plans until Speer was taken into custody. He was taken into custody at his rural Cherokee County home.

He was booked on a complaint of aggravated criminal threat.
