Education Report Scenarios Considered

Lawmakers continue to wade through a report from consultants on what it could cost to improve Kansas schools. Representative Jim Kelly says he is hopeful that one of the spending scenarios will satisfy the Kansas Supreme Court mandate.  The report indicates the state would need to add from $421-million to an additional $2-billion annually to the $4-billion currently allocated.

The goal would be to boost the high school graduation rate to 95% within the next four years.
