The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responds to a call of an overturned SUV in a creek last night. Sheriff David Groves says a passerby saw the vehicle's tail lights in the area of Southwest 90th and Clem Road and called for help. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was trapped inside and water was getting in by the time deputies and Lola Township Fire personnel arrived. 35-year-old Wesley Woods of Baxter Springs was eventual removed from the vehicle.

Woods was treated for hypothermia and other injuries in Joplin.
