Kansas Governor Sam Brownback addresses a joint session of the Kansas Legislature last night. He delivered his final State of the State address. The governor says school finance will likely be the biggest issue of the year, but he has a plan. He says the increased spending will bring increased expectations that the Kansas State Board of Education will need to ascertain are met. The governor wants a 95% graduation rate with 75% of graduates continuing their education after high school through the military, a certificate program or college.
He also pushed for more development of unmanned aerial vehicles and improved health policies.
