Three women die in a two vehicle crash involving a deer yesterday. It happened on U.S. 169, four miles south of Iola. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that 20-year-old Ashley Nicole Walters of Warrensburg, Missouri was northbound on the roadway when a deer entered from the east ditch, striking her car. The driver of a mini-van was southbound, struck the deer, ending up in the southbound ditch. 33-year-old Sherry Laraine Bingham of Chanute and two passengers, 32-year-old Ciara Joan Edwards of Chanute and 37-year-old Samatha Rnee McMillan were killed.
The wreck happened around 5:30 last night. Walters was not injured.
